About The Southsea Deli

The shop was set up in 2018 by mother and son team Gillian and Daniel. Both have enjoyed cooking and eating together since Daniel was a teenager, and had a lifelong dream to turn their passion for food into a livelihood.

Daniel has trained in food quality, and has spent the past nine years working in Jamie Oliver HQ, from where he has travelled the world researching food ethical issues, animal welfare and sustainability.

The idea behind the deli was to bring independently and ethically produced food to the people of Southsea, and as an alternative to shopping in the big chains. We aim to champion seasonal food, and cater to the needs of our community.

We are primarily a food store, but have a lovely communal table in the window, where you are welcome to eat, sip, chat or watch the world go by....
