About The Southsea Deli
The shop was set up in 2018 by mother and son team Gillian and Daniel. In 2020 the shop re-located to larger premises on Elm Grove, Southsea.
Daniel has trained in food quality, and has spent ten years working in Jamie Oliver HQ, from where he has travelled the world researching food ethical issues, animal welfare and sustainability.
The idea behind the deli was to bring independently and ethically produced food to the people of Southsea, and as an alternative to shopping in the big chains. We aim to champion seasonal food, and cater to the needs of our community.
We are primarily a food store with a small amount of seating, but also host events & food workshops, provide outside catering and host the occasional supper club.
You will also find our sandwiches, cakes and coffee served from our deli truck at Eastney Beach.
